Our volunteers are treasures



We have many opportunities for people to get involved and help in the special work we do.


Every day we clean stalls, scrub water buckets, sweep the isle, and make sure the grounds are safe for our beloved horses and very special students. We take the stewardship of the property and the herd very seriously, and do all we can to make sure everyone who comes to Big Star Ranch can be safe.


If this sounds like fun to you, we start morning chores at 9:00am. Our morning volunteers are invaluable as we depend on them to get the day off to a great start!

Special Projects and Maintenance Days are scheduled throughout the year as our lesson schedule permits.


Construction projects may include fence building, arena projects, installing gates, building a tack room, painting, spreading gravel, leveling stall mats, water drainage, cleaning and maintenance.


Big Star Ranch does not own a tractor, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are more of a fund raiser, consider joining our fund raising committee! Our heart is to never turn anyone away who needs our services, due to finances.


We always welcome donations of money, but we also are happy to receive items of value that we could sell (or use). We have also done various fundraising through selling items at Christmas bazaars, tack sales, bottle and can drives, Fred Meyer Rewards, Amazon Smile, and Facebook donation drives.


We would appreciate your ideas and help in this area!

This ensures a safe and secure environment for all parties volunteers.

The volunteer coordinator will discuss this further with you during the registration process.
